Engaging, stimulating and enjoyable, the MAGIC programme works to help young people develop as individuals by covering a range of crucial personal development topics rarely covered by existing school lessons, whilst also allowing a vital change from routine.
MAGIC stands for
Motivation Assertiveness Goal achievement Inititiative Confident communication Which are the names of the modules completed by participants.
The activities covered by each of the MAGIC modules help the young people enhance awareness of their own potential and abilities – valuable in developing young adults with highly desirable skills for continued education, further education, employment or entry to employment.
Participants in MAGIC will benefit from:
- being listened to, and learning how to listen to others - increased levels of motivation - learning how to set goals, and break down goals into manageable sections - recognising their potential and how to work towards it - increased awareness of assertiveness, and how to assert confidently - identifying their core values and what is most important to them - understanding and learning how to use their initiative - learning the importance of responding, and not reacting - increased ability to communicate effectively and with confidence - raised self esteem and aspirations
Some potential knock-on benefits to your staff when young people attend
- start to see beyond their current situation, different choices = different outcome - easier to work with - attending appointments
